The suspected sinking of China’s Class 093 submarine hasn’t gone away.
The United States has scrambled an oceanographic survey vessel and a submarine.
Both were home-ported in Louisiana and operated off the coast of the United States.

Ocean Intervention: Incident Investigation Vessel

The “Ocean Intervention” departed from Sasebo Naval Base in Japan on September 22 and set sail for the East China Sea.
The ship was reportedly carrying a large number of containers of unknown purpose.

“The Ocean Intervention” is a large oceanographic research vessel. with a displacement of 5,000 tons and a length of 100 meters and a width of 17 meters.
Unlike other research vessels, it is equipped with a large crane. This crane has the ability to lift objects from deep water.

  4. Capable of conducting research in the areas of physics, chemistry, and biology.

Two nuclear-powered submarines will be deployed by the U.S.

The United States will field two nuclear-powered submarines.
They will provide cover for the activities of the Ocean Intervention Vessel.

According to the Okinawa administration, the U.S. military submarines “Topeka” and “Santa Fe” entered the port on September 22.

The Topeka and Santa Fe, both carriers in Guam, came in at the same time.

This is not a carrier escort mission, but two ships coming in at the same time could be a sign of a special mission.


The unresolved suspicion of a Chinese nuclear submarine

Qingdao Southern Naval Base is the homeport of the Type 093 submarine Changzheng-15.

Chinese authorities have not provided any visuals of the Changzheng-15 at anchor.

Will a U.S. investigation reveal the truth?

Did a Chinese nuclear submarine sink and explode near the Yellow Sea?

If the U.S. were to raise the wreckage, it could obtain sensitive information about China’s nuclear submarines.
