The votes were counted and the public opinion was different
However, The actual public opinion of the citizens is different. In December, there were the following polls A poll conducted by the Congo Research Group (CRG), reliable polling data from the Congolese National Electoral Commission (BERCI), French pollster IPSOS, and actual vote count data from nearly 40,000 observers from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference Electoral Commission (CENCO).
All polls conducted by these organizations pointed to a clear and statistically strong victory for “Fayulu”.

Notably, Fayulu had a statistically significant edge in seven of these provinces (indicated by boxes in the table). On the other hand, Tshisekedi had a similar edge in Kasai and South Kivu provinces, thanks to kamere (which can be expected to reward). Shadari did not have a significant edge in Maniema.

Is CRG a reliable polling organization?
All of the Congo Research Group’s (CRG) research is based on in-depth historical and social knowledge of the issues at hand. In addition, they often invest months in field research, talking to hundreds of people to produce their reports.
Most notably, the organization is based at New York University’s Center for International Cooperation. CRG is an “independent” non-profit research organization dedicated to understanding the violence affecting millions of Congolese.
The majority of its researchers, deputy director, and advisory board are Congolese.
