“Sharp power”

It is a manipulative foreign policy that undermines the political systems of other countries.

China has been trying to establish a “sharp power” strategy in the South Pacific.

In 2020, Chinese Foreign Minister “Wang Yi” visited eight South Pacific countries.

Wang Yi visited the Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, and East Timor.

It seems as if the Chinese government is looking to partner with South Pacific nations to source fisheries and marine resources. But China is looking for more than economic cooperation.

At the time, China was seeking to establish security cooperation with 11 South Pacific nations and train their police forces.

In fact, in the Solomon Islands, Chinese police training for local police began.

In 2020, The training took place at the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) headquarters from July 1 to 7.

Unlike Solomon Islands, however, Fiji has opposed Chinese police and security cooperation.

Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka told a news conference in Wellington, New Zealand, that the country is considering suspending a police cooperation agreement it signed with China in 2011.(The police cooperation agreement between Fiji and China was expanded to include some military areas in 2013.)

It’s no secret that China has been visiting South Pacific nations in an effort to contest power with the United States in the Pacific.

Why does China help other countries’ police administrations? What’s next for China?

  • China will station Chinese police personnel in the country.
  • China will sign an agreement in the name of police cooperation, It will increase network cooperation in the name of “Cybersecurity.”
  • China will pay off Congressmen, politicians, and Supreme Court justices.
  • The media will be bribed with “China money”.
  • There will be massive election fraud in the country.

Consequently, All countries that collaborate with China will become communist states, with democracy destroyed and only pro-China propaganda promoted.

If China’s strategy succeeds, the South Pacific will become a Chinese military base and a huge air defense system that China can control.
